Last Year in the High Lakes
June 10th, 2008
This was the best result I had last year as I fished the high lakes. This fish measured 22 inches and may have been a record for the lake that I took it out of. It was taken in mid season at one of the highest lakes in the southern Oregon area and yielded a great fight. I was using a small boat that I had packed in and I think that I would have done even better had I had a float tube with me. These small floating devices are great for getting into the high lakes that you may have to pack into. That was the case in this situation, being that it was about 3 miles from the nearest road. That day was just a fantastic day though with the bite just going crazy. My cousin and I yielded some really nice fish that we took home and cooked for a great couple of meals the following week or two. This just goes to show that if you have the right gear, it can yield some great results.
